Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India and ISRO Chairman, died after heart attack during a lecture in Shillong. He was 83. He is known as the father of Indian Missiles. He has pioneered in developing rockets SLV, PSLV, and missiles Pridhvi, Agni. He has taught in dreaming and proved to become it a reality. He is known for his simplicity in life and sincerity in work.

International Yoga Day celebrated on 21st June 2015. In the yoga session held at India Gate, organised by Govt of India, inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi, 38000 peoples participated including those from 84 foreign countries. This is a world record noted in Guinness Book.
Celebration of Yoga day by UN is a remarkable achievement of Modi after his speech in UN earlier.

Earthquake occurred Nepal on 25th April killing about 10000 peoples, 1000s injured, 1000s homeless. This is the deadliest natural disaster in Nepal in the last 80 years. 7.9 is recorded in the Richter scale. The historical Dharahara tower, built in 1832, in Nepal collapsed in this disaster. The tremor also happened in North Indian States such as Delhi, Bihar, WB, UP and even in highest buildings in Kochi.

KLA has suspended 5 MLAs belonging to the Opposition party in connection with the allege ransacking the Speaker's podium and destroying the public equipments in LA on the Kerala Budget day of 13th March 2015, which was presented by Mr. KM Mani. The protest by Opposition Parties was with the demand that KM Mani would not be allowed for Budget presentation as he is facing allegation of corruption of receiving bribery from some Bar Hotel Owners.

Leader of Opposition and the only one alive CPI(M) party founder Sri. V.S. Achuthanandan, former CM, has walked out from the party State Conference held at Alappuzha after severe criticism from the party secretary Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan and other State Committee members and not allowing him to explain his stands on the issues raised by him. Thereafter he has not attended the remaining two day sessions even party General Secretary has called him to attend.

Neera production is entrusted with the Coconut Development Board has been stopped by Govt after dispute between Agriculture and Excise Ministers. Excise dept should have to issue licenses to extraction of Neera from coconuts. Currently 16 Coconut Manufacturing Federations under CDB out of a total of 327 Federations in the State have obtained license for this. Govt have freeze the licenses issued to another 150 Federations on 19.2.15.

A man-eater tiger which killed 2 persons and injured several others in Wayanad district was shot dead by TN police. Kerala and TN Govt had arranged about 170 persons for search operations and to kill the tiger. The operation came in to success after 3 days search in Kerala- TN forest ranges.

INDIA was ranked 136 out of 180 countries worldwide in terms of press freedom in 2015, which makes an improvement in its rank of 140 in 2014, but its absolute score declined from 40.34 to 40.49. (Source: World Press Freedom Index, 2015). The ranking is based on a range of criteria including media pluralism and independence.

Costa Concordia  
The luxurious ship which was sank in 13th Jan 2012 after hiting sandbank when going from Rome, Itally to Savona with 3026 passengers and 1023 employees on board. This disaster has similarity with Titanic tragedy in 1912. 32 persons died in the accident. The ship has 114500 ton weight, which was latter lifted from the sea using cranes with a cost of  Rs.12500 crores. On 12-2-15, the captain of this ship is sentenced for 15 years imprisonment.

AAP (Aam Admi Party) sweeps Delhi with 67 seats out of 79 seats in the Assembly held on 7.2.15. BJP won in in 3 seats only, its CM candidate and former AAP leader Mr
S. Kiran Bedi lost. No seat to Congress, this is a historical defeat to Rahul Ganghi lead Congress party in the capital.

During the inauguration, film star Mohanlal has performed "Lalism" and invited criticism due to its poor performance. So he has decided to pay back the remuneration of Rs.1.63 crores to Govt.

Mr Jiji Thomason, a 1980 batch IAS officer is appointed as Chief Secretary of Kerala from 1st Feb 2015 in the vacancy consequent to the retirement of Mr. E K Bharath Bhushan. He was started his service as District Collector of Palakkad.

Dr. S Jaishankar is appointed by the Union Govt as the new Foreign Secretary of India replacing Ms. Sujatha Singh by curtailing her service 7 months before.

Malayalam film comedian actor Mr. Mala Aravindan passed away on 28-1-15. He acted close to 400 films in the last 37 years.
